R.I.M.’s $50 Million of Free Publicity

The BarackBerry

The BarackBerry

Barack Obama’s tussle with his future White House lawyers and the Secret Service has finally come to an end.  It seems all but a forgone conclusion that Obama will have to give up his beloved 8830 World Edition BlackBerry a week from today.

I don’t know who’s going to be more upset at this turn of events… Mr. Obama or R.I.M. (Research In Motion; the BlackBerry’s maker) who has been reaping oodles and oodles of free publicity surrounding the Presidential-elect tussle… which some peg a $50 million. My guess is both.

UPDATE: Obama might be able to keep his beloved device after all.
